Comedian/Actor HASSAN OLIVER was born in Newark, NJ. Growing up in an urban city Hassan faced hard circumstances. At a young age he was bounced through various foster homes until he was ultimately adopted. At an early age he learned to embrace his struggles and find strength to survive and remain positive. He soon realized that he loved to perform in front of a crowd and that making people laugh was a natural talent. It was after a few unexpected circumstances that he decided to pursue his dream of doing professional comedy and acting in 2006.
Throughout Hassan’s career has opened for and performed with some of the greatest comedians around. He is best known for his energetic performances and his ability to get the crowd out of their seats. Hassan hosts roughly 4-8 events a month between New Jersey and New York and Pennsylvania. He has hosted and performed at Caroline’s on Broadway, Gotham Comedy club, the Comedy Store the Stress Factory, and various comedy clubs around the country. Additionally he has performed at several Colleges and Universities as well as non-profit organizations. He is also called upon to host events such as fashion shows and music showcases.
In addition to comedy, Hassan has also made his mark as an Actor as well. He has starred in four independent films, “Living with No Regrets”, “King of Newark”, “No Surrender”, and “Nicknames”. He also starred in a theatre play called “Her Dreams, Her Nightmare” at the Cabrini theater in New York. He was also featured in a reality show called “Jersey Strong” that aired on Pivot TV.
Hassan has made a commitment to advancing his skills by formally studying acting under the guidance of Tracy Moore and Wendy Mackenzie. He has also taken courses at the American Comedy Institute at the Gotham Comedy Club in NYC and Improvisation News. He is currently pursuing a degree in theatre arts.
